DBA question: 7.10 configuration
Hello,
Hardware: NCR-3455, SVR4 NCR2.03, 2 486 cpu's, 256 Megs/RAM
Software: 7.10.UC2
I rebuilt the kernel so many times, but Online won't initialize if set the
shared memory parameters up to the sizes i need, which they are not that high
anyways!
sample error msg; oninit: Fatal error in shared memory creation.
I read the machine specific notes and Online performance guide, but those two
are in conflict with each others.
I couldn't increase the number of BUFFERS over 1600, Why? I think I have tons
RAM.
The best configuration that I was able to come up with is as follow:
