Hello all.
We're trying a little experiment to get the SCO version of Informix SE
7.1 working on a BSD/OS 2.0 machine under the SCO emulator.
I installed the SCO Emulator disk that comes with BSDI. I was able to
install the binaries from diskettes as instructed in the installation
manual. I made the apporiate entries in /etc/services,
${INFORMIXDIR}/etc/sqlhosts, and /etc/hosts.equiv. I set up all the
enviroment varibles. I ran "sco sqlexecd demo_se" and it forked into
the background and ran silently. I ran "sco dbaccess" and it loads and
allows me to navigate the menus.
But when I try to connect to the database, dbaccess dies and sqlexecd
keeps complaining about error -25573 (Network driver can't accept
connections) until I kill -9 it.
I personally am ready to announce the experiment a failure, but I
figured I'd post here first just in case someone has tried this before
and knows something I don't.
Christopher
