I am running a client-server environment with Data General 9500 AViiON clients running DG/UX 5.4R3.10 with OnLine/Istar 5.06.uc1 and my server is a SUN 2000E with Solaris 2.4 and OnLine/Istar version 5.06.uc2. The number of new connections is around 1 new connections/second. The client is with OnLine 5.06.uc1 using TLI for net connections. In version 5.01 there was no problems, no 908 errors and it was around 50% faster. From OnLine/Istar version 5.03 on Data General client machines the 908 error stepped into your face on the terminal and the performance stepped down. The 908 error is followed by "Bad file number", why ??? Have you heard or seen anything about this error related to Data General and TLI ??? (The number of connections to the server is high, a lot of new client applications starts up/or dies all the time). What the users are saying, well......... If you can help in any way, please do not wait to write me, I will be very very happy to hear from you. Your input might not solve the problem but it may help me.
