John, It's funny that I read your article because we have just written in a (30 hour period - no sleep) a C++ application accessing ODBC to transfer data. Basically the program comes up and allows you to select the 'source' ODBC driver and the 'destination' ODBC driver. It then allows you to enter the 'Number of Threads' and the '# of Blocked Rows'. It will read all tables and let you select or all. The application will create ~20 threads inserting at 'blocked' fetches of 10-1000 rows....meaning we are getting inserts of 1000-2000 rows per second. This was done from SQL Server into Informix 7.1! We have not gotten the performance yet into Sybase but you get the picture! Because of ODBC it will work with any database! You could do the same... :) David J.
