If not, then you are in a secure mode. Even using hosts.equiv or .rhosts wont work. HP-UX will over-ride them and still check for a passwd. You then have to go into SAM and check the security side. Its been awhile but I believe you can extend it to a network segment. Now don't quote me on this since I am going from memory since my HP is sitting in Chicago, and I am in Cleveland and I can't bring up SAM or load my handy hp-docs CD.
