If your application creates explicit temporary tables using CREATE TEMP
TABLE... or SELECT ... INTO TEMP and not using the WITH NO LOG option,
then the temporary tables are built into the root dbspace. Well, the
temporary dbspaces are not logged, so, not using the WITH NO LOG option
will be consistent with the fact that the DBSPACETEMP setting will be
ignored in this case. But the manuals are not clear on this matter and
they do not specify that in this case the root dbspace will be used.
This problem is logged as a documentation bug, 99902. If you can't
modify the application, then you'll have to provide enough space in the
root dbspace.
