Re: Problem with CURRENT function

I believe you have upgraded to 4.12.UE1, not 4.21.UE1 as the latter is not a released version, to the best of my knowledge. Why did you not upgrade to 4.14.UC1, or 4.13.UD1, both of which should have been available for a while? And 4.15.UC1 will be available shortly! I recall seeing that problem; it is caused by some inaccurate coding in the routine which evaluates CURRENT. It should have been fixed in later versions. If you have 5.0x ESQL/C, you can try fiddling with the I4GL library which contains rdtime.o, replacing it with the version from 5.0x ESQL/C. But make sure you preserve the original versions of everything because I can make no guarantees whatsoever that it will work. The problem is, it is inserting some junk }values (like 1995-01-01 08:01:00G). While analyzing the problem we found }a release note (see attached) which states that the CURRENT time is not }supported any more by the product. We are using a INFORMIX based }application which uses the CURRENT function and inserting datetime (year }to fraction(3)) values to different tables. Since we don't have thesource }code, we cannot change the application . We talked with INFORMIX support }and they again refered to the same release note. When we asked what our }options are (whether we have to live with older version of INFORMIX) , }INFORMIX told us to degrade to the previous version or not to use CURRENT }function with fractions. We would like to upgrade INFORMIX to a later }version like 7.0 or greater. Is the CURRENT function supported with }fractions in the new versions of INFORMIX (4GL)?. Any suggestion is }greatly appreciated. } }The system we are running is IBM RS6000 580H /AIX 3.2.5 }ONLINE Version 5.01 } }Thank you all
