Debug stored procedures

-> Are there debugging tools for writing stored procedures? A friend has asked -> and I don't know the answer. Thanks for any help. ->Ummm, not really. You can track the execution results to a flat file (I ->think), ->but there don't seem to be any interactive tools. So, back to the old code ->walk-throughs. :) ->HTH, ->billy.wheeler@digitec.co.za ->---- ->Digitec Online - South Africa ->Telnet: bbs.digitec.co.za Correct, there are no debugging tools. You can perform traces on the procedures. This involves reading through (potentially heaps) of output (not dissimilar to the output from set -x in shell). To turn tracing on: SET DEBUG FILE TO "pathname" [WITH APPEND]; TRACE ON|PROCEDURE; The first sets up where the output will go, the second indicates the amount of detail you want in the output. Tracing procedures gives an entry in the file for each procedure call. Turning tracing ON details every action performed by the procedure. TRACE OFF; Turns it off. No surprises there.
