Hi, in the rc2.d directory you need a scrip that a) sets up the informix env variables same as informix user b) runs tbinit. c) runs tbmode -uky when stopping the machine Also this should look like the others in there so copy one and rename it to informix, the structure is usually along the lines of case $1 Start ..... Stop ..... end case In the stop you need tbmode -uky which will shut it down again. G.K.
