Hi my name is Angelo from Italy, I need a little information about Dynamic SQL and stored procedures. Is there anyone who can help me ? SCENARIO: I have Informix SE Engine + I-SQL DBACCESS on server a Risc6000 IBM and SQL Retriever ODBC by visioware on server and PC I use Ms-Access to retrive data from remote database Informix SE via ODBC. MS-Access Ver 2.0 permits to make a query PASS-THROUGH, This kind of query is faster than a normal query because doesn't use Jet Engine but directly SE Engine. By a pass-through query is possible to use a STORED PROCEDURE, so HERE IS MY PROBLEM I have no found any document about it: how create a stored procedure on my server. A stored procedure is useful because I can execute a query on a server with parameters. Into Guide to SQL Tutorial version 4.1 pg. 6-26 I have red that is possible to make it by Informix ESQL/C. Need I ESQL/C tool ? Can I create a stored procedure by another way ? (with ISQL for example or a shell scripts? ) In a informix depliant (rif. 000-20229-77) : "Thechnical brief about Informix SE vrs 5.0" one of the features described is the possibilty of make a stored procedure. Thanks for your attention. Best regards. Angelo Pagotto >
