Why is Informix screwing up my SYS 5 apps by linking to libbsd.a?

Informix ESQL/C links to libbsd.a Informix ESQL/C links to libbsd.a incorrectly. If you use cc + libbsd.a instead of /usr/ucb/cc which links in libbsd.a automaticly then you end up with the SYS V header files along with BSD versions of system calls. Ask sun if they support this. Sun's libbsd.a is buggy. I can get a simple 'ec' program to hang in a printf. libbsd is BSD! Things like signal handling, set/get pgrp and other functions that exist under both BSD and SYS V can have different behaviors and even different arguments. 1. I purchased a SYS 5 based operating system. 2. I purchased a database development tool(ESQL/C) for this SYS 5 based OS. 3. I a trying to develop DB applications that are SYS 5 compliant. 4. Is it to much to ask for a major? DB vendor to have a SYS 5 base port of their development tools for a SYS 5 OS? -- Daniel Wood daniel@starsight.com The opinions expressed herein are those of myself, my employers, the carriers of this news message or any other messages for that matter, you the reader and any of your relations(whether by birth or chromosome count), all life forms and all inanimate objects.
