If both Informix instances is on one machine the port number (service) should be unique for each instances. -----Original Message----- From: Sistema Unico (CNA) [mailto:sisdis@tournet.com.ar] Sent: Tuesday, October 03, 2000 10:21 AM To: Informix List (IIUG) Subject: sqlexec Hi everybody, I have a IDS 7.31 on a Solaris 7 with two different instances. Each instance has one local connection (ol_db_shm service) and one TCP connection (sqlexec service, one in the 1525/tcp port and another in the 1526/tcp port). My question addresses to the SQLEXEC service, which is set up in /etc/services file. If I have two TCP connection (one per instance), should I use the same service "sqlexec" and port for both connection or do have to use two different services and ports (e.g., sqlexec1 at 1525 and sqlexec2 at 1526) ??? Can the sqlexec service attend both connection in the same port (1525/tcp) at the same time??? Thanks and regards, Alejandro Cabrera Obed http://www.sisdis.gov.ar E-mail: sisdis@tournet.com.ar Bs.
