Intranet Database Access?

I'm seeking advice on the choice of a language for use in building database access FORMS and REPORTS that can be used with Informix Workgroup Server and Universal WEB Connect software. I'd like to move from: to: ---------------- ------------------ OnLine 5.X ------------> Workgroup Server ISQL/PERFORM/ACE Universal Web Connect | + ?????? | | v v Accessed by: Accessed by: PC PC PC/NT PC/NT Unix Workstations Unix Workstations logging onto the via WEB browsers db server! Has anyone had good/bad experience with languages (supported by Informix or not) that would allow me to write database access FORMS and REPORTS for this proposed change? 4gl Java Perl V Basic NewEra etc....? I'm not sure what all is included in the Informix products (WGS and UWC) that begin to address this change but I'm sure that what is provided won't be adequate to capture the complexity that I have built into my FORMS with PERFORM. This change will allow me to move from the arcane TEXT-based FORMS that are the product of ISQL/PERFORM to a more friendly user interface provided by WEB browsers.
