That solved the first part of the problem... But now.... WHY THE F*** can't i logon with the informix 7.x SE ODBC driver... It gives an error but no error text... I have found out that (atleast in my class lib) in the CRPEengine::LogOnServer() when using lstrcpy it will copy and copy and copy and copy since there isn't any zero terminating char... My class lib has the header like this.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- File: engine.4gl -- -- Authors: Craig Chaplin -- Jack Suto (New Era 2.0 version) -- -- Synopsis: CRPEngine class definition. -- -- History: 04-04-97 - CC - Created. -- -- Copyright (c) 1991-1997 Seagate Software Information Management Group, Inc. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is it the newest one ? (it was found on CR5.0 CD and looks to me that its only for the 2.x version) I have changed the CRPEngine::LogOnServer to this : FUNCTION CRPEngine::LogOnServer(dllName CHAR(*), logOnInfo CRPELogOnInfo) RETURNING BOOLEAN VARIABLE returnCode BOOLEAN BEGIN_C { struct PELogOnInfo logOnInfo; logOnInfo.StructSize = sizeof(struct PELogOnInfo); // lstrcpy(logOnInfo.ServerName,logoninfo->m_servername); // lstrcpy(logOnInfo.DatabaseName,logoninfo->m_databasename); // lstrcpy(logOnInfo.UserID,logoninfo->m_userid); // lstrcpy(logOnInfo.Password,logoninfo->m_password); strncpy(logOnInfo.ServerName,logoninfo->m_servername,127); strncpy(logOnInfo.DatabaseName,logoninfo->m_databasename,127); strncpy(logOnInfo.UserID,logoninfo->m_userid,127); strncpy(logOnInfo.Password,logoninfo->m_password,127); logOnInfo.ServerName[127] = '\\0'; logOnInfo.DatabaseName[127] = '\\0'; logOnInfo.UserID[127] = '\\0'; logOnInfo.Password[127] = '\\0'; MessageBox(NULL, logOnInfo.ServerName ,"logOnInfo.ServerName" ,MB_OK); MessageBox(NULL, logOnInfo.DatabaseName,"logOnInfo.DatabaseName",MB_OK); MessageBox(NULL, logOnInfo.UserID ,"logOnInfo.UserID" ,MB_OK); MessageBox(NULL, logOnInfo.Password ,"logOnInfo.Password" ,MB_OK); returncode = PELogOnServer(dllname,&logOnInfo); } END_C RETURN returnCode END FUNCTION ------------------------ But still without success.... Please help us by sending the classlib for NEWERA 3.xx... Both source and LIB.. Btw: isn't it funny that informix can't (don't want to) help us here ? I have called tech support MANY times.. And nothing happends.... Like the memory bug in 3.xx that is more than a year old.. INFORMIX ! GIVE US BETTER SUPPORT!!! AND DO IT NOW!!! email : kjsystem@inet.uni-c.dk Phone : +45 36 72 36 90..
