I have a complicated problem. I have AIX Unix and SE 7.3. I have a stored procedure that makes a system call to a program compiled with ESQL C. This program reads CISAM files and loads records into the SE database. All works fine on the AIX box, where the DB resides. HOWEVER when I execute this SP using ODBC from an NT machine (SDK) it just hangs. I can execute other SPs from ODBC but THIS one has a problem. I expect it is something to to with it getting confused with environment variables. I've tried putting the program that is called with the system call, in a shell script that sets up the environment variables, and executing that. I've tried triggers... Can't get anywhere. Any pointers at all appreciated. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
Is the system call being backgrounded with a "&" ? Kate Juliff wrote in message <8csl58$sen$1@nnrp1.deja.com>... >snip
