Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Jeff Pouton asked about experiences and pitfalls using DRDA connectivity with IDS 11.70.FC6 on AIX. Art Kagel had one client using it for third-party tools with no known issues. Stefan Sammut called it brilliant with the Db2 common driver and .NET, advising adding the drsoctcp threads in config, and said PAM needs a special fix on 11.70 FC8 or 12.1 xC5. Jeff thanked them.

Just wondering if any-one out there has much experience with Informix
connectivity using DRDA. Our company is considering using this protocol.
Are there any performance issues or gotchas that people might have
experienced?
We are running IDS 11.70.FC6 on AIX Servers.
Thanks in advance.
I have one client using DRDA to connect some third party tools. No issues
of which I am aware.

We have used it over 2 years
It's brilliant.
Especially if use it from Db2 common driver + .net . Gives much better
interoperability with .NET eg Data Entity Services Projects.
Make sure you add the relative threads in config drsoctcp
And if you want to use PAM - there is a special fix on top of 11.7 FC8
(requested by us)
Or using 12.1 xc5
