I am trying to connect to Informix using the following VB6 syntax: db.Open "Provider=ifxoledbc;Data Source=hpdc;UID=marip;PWD=xxx;" I received the following error: "Database not found or systems permitions" If I connect to the database thru telnet, I have no problem; therefore, I have permitions to the database. Moreover, 'hpdc' is my default server specified by SetNet. Any ideas? Marilitza Perez
From Informix OLE DB Provider Programmer's Manual, Version 2.0, http://www.informix.com/answers/english/pdf_docs/23sdk/5445.pdf Data Source Considerations Informix OLE DB Provider treats the database (rather than the database server instance) as a data source. Informix OLE DB Provider requires data source names to be in the format [database][@server]. If the database part is missing, the client user name is used. If the @server part is missing, the default database server (corre-sponding to the value specified by the INFORMIXSERVER environment variable) is used.
