Dudes, c'mon :) We're technologists - let's let technology do the work. What I do is, I direct all my dejanews mails to an account on a Linux (and now Sun U5) box, upon which I read the mails using elm (just cos it's text based, simple, and fast). Whenever I see something interesting I just hit "S" for save, which saves it off the the relevant subdir under ~/Mail. I then use the excellent and *free* Excite for Webservers search and indexing engine to crawl over ~/Mail and index it. I can then search my collection using EWS's web interface served up by Apache on the same machine. This way not only me but other people can search the collections at any time, using all the usual query options, on an oh-so-pretty web form interface. Cheers all Andrew > > > Carlson@WHSmith wrote: > > > > OK, I'm at the end of my rope here, people. Unless you have a dialup account to BellSouth . . . some of us 'technologists' work for retail companies . . . have mercy, please . . . <G> > Whenever I see something interesting I just hit "S" for save, which saves it off > the the relevant subdir under ~/Mail.
