Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Hello Gurus,
We are planning to upgrade to IDS 7.31 UC 4X7 from IDS 7.30 UC7. (SunOS Solaris
2.6)
The possible upgrade reasons are:
1. To get better ER environment.
2. Better Buffer Management (onstat -P)
3. Less Engine crashes on AF.
4. Improved onbar backups (Admin thread - as_pgchk - ???).
5. In overall expecting a better OLTP environment.
I would much appreciate, if you could share your upgrade experiences with us.
Thank you very much in advance.
Ganesh

From ER's standpoint, it's definitaly a good move. However, I'm a bit confused as
to why you would be going to a patched version (i.e. 'X'7). Did you require a
patch during your testing phase????
