RE: Too many open files to the master oninit process

Usinf IDS, each chunk is classed as a file for the O/S and each
can be opened by a cpu. You should configure your kernel to allow
this many open files on top of any the users need.
Use sar -v to check number of open files against number of
available files (file-sz) and the number of times this was exceeded.
As this is a kernel parameter unless you can amend it dynamically
you will need to reboot, I'm afraid I am not familiar with SCO.

-> Hi all,

-> Environment: SCO Unix 3.2 5.0.6
-> IDS 7.31 UD4

->
-> It's not possible to connect to IDS, because the limit of

->
-> "pstat -f -P PID_OF_MASTER_ONINT_PROCESS" shows ca. 300 open

->
-> if I restart the instance there are less than 30 open file

->
-> i manage ca. 20 IDS Server, but only 2 Servers with few

->
-> Anyone else had experienced such problem?
-> Is it a known bug (IDS or unix) ??
