A dbschema -d <db> -t <yourtable> -ss
would help; maybe you have triggers defined on it??
also a
set explain on; -- may be with a hint avoid_execute to see what the query planis..
what about the lock mode is it set and if so is it set to indefinite??
when you unload it and reload in a test system how long does it take there??
