If you have enough disc-space, make the backup to disc with ontape and=
then make your cpio including the backup-file.
At the same make your logic-logs big enough for at hole days work. Reme=
mber
to backup the logic-log together with the data backup.

Well, yes it is _possible_, but I sure as hell wouldn't recommend it.
And I'm almost certain it wouldn't be supported by Informix, so if you
have to restore and it doesn't work, you'd be on your own.
In short, use ontape or onbar. :-)
