Hi all, is it possible to configure an Informix Dynamic Server 2000 so, that he acts like non-case-sensitive-Database? May be there is a trick in the GLS-Configuration? I know, that I can handle it using the UPPER- oder LOWER-Function in Queries, but thats not a nice way. Thanks for your answer! bye Markus

No such a thing as far as I know.
Build a functional index and use that for querying. So you would generally
do something like:
CREATE FUNCTION otc_upper(sp_input CHAR) RETURNING CHAR WITH (NOT VARIANT);
RETURN UPPER(sp_input);
END FUNCTION;
CREATE INDEX otcu_tablename ON tablename (otc_upper(your_column));
Then:
SELECT * FROM tablename
WHERE otc_upper(your_column) = "FOOBAR";
Please note: I've written this from memory, I can't guarantee the syntax is
quite right...
