Is there a bug with ontape -r on Informix IDS 7.31UC2 on AIX 4.3.3?
Product
defect query is no longer available on the IBM/Informix web site
I attempted a cold restore yesterday to a seperate server with the same
architecture and received the following error.
funtion ioctl failed code -1 errno 5
Physical restore failed - function failed code -1 errno 5
Program over
A warm restore also failed, just giving the following information in the
error.
Cannot perform warm restore on Root DBSpace.
If there is a bug, is there a work around or patch for this bug? If there is
not a bug, can anyone give me some direction to fix this?
Thanks in advance,
Roy S Verstegen

Errno 5 is an O/S error indicating I/O error.
Is your tape /tape drive good?
Are your disks OK?
Are there any further clues in the O/S logs?
Try restoring from a different tape.
