You can call other stored procedures. You can't call a c routine but you can launch a separate program with the SYSTEM statement. The program can call whatever you want and do anything but (there is always a but) SPL can only directly accept the exit code from the program launched. It is of course possible to handle data communication betwen the SP and the program via tables in the database. This option is only really usefull when you have a reasonable amount for the program to do. Otherwise the process launch and communications cost outweigh the costs of having to do this code before you call the SPL.
