Error: -25588

I have a query intensive c++ app running under Informix 9.1 on a Sun server running Solaris 2.5. I open and close the connection before and after each query (which for some reason gives better response time than just opening the connection once). After around 15,000 queries the server no longer accepts connection from my app and gives the following error message: XIX000:4:Interrupted system call XIX000:-25588:The appl process cannot connect to OnLine server jadzia_ius_server Now the server is not down since I can connect via dbaccess or with another app. Since I have already issued some 15,000 queries succesfully I don't think it is a problem with my connect syntax. Have tried a bunch of different work-arounds w/o success. About the only thing I haven't tried is to fork a new process for every query trying to trick Informix into thinking these queries come from different apps. (This really isn't an option anyway since I'm gonna end up asking hundreds of thousands to millions of queries). Any insights or similar experiences would be much appreciated.
