Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
We are running Informix 11.70 on a Windows Server 2008.
Connecting to the server is working from the command line interface (DBACCESS
-e dbname),
but when trying to connect (for example) from Server Studio (on the same
Windows server) using a userid and password we get
-951 : incorrect password or user xxx@computer.xx.yy.zz is not known on the
database server
The userid is the same that was used when logging on to the Windows system and
with which the server was successfully accessed via command line. The user is
a local Windows user.
The same goes for connections from other computers (in our case, a Cognos
server)
This is something that has worked previously on this same machine, so it seems
that suddenly the informix server has lost contact with the Windows
authentication information. We have not changed anything on Informix. It is
possible that some Windows configurations have been changed (without our
knowledge) could have this effect?
Could this be some firewall issue?
All suggestions are much appreciated - this is a urgent problem for us!
Thanks,
Lauri Pietarinen
Hi Lauri.
Could this be relevant?
