Hi, Our team is in process of migrating the DB servers to a new data centre and I have an option to decide for storage for our heavily used OLTP database (not huge in size, probably 30 GB) where there are lot of inserts (20 million records/day) to a particular table during the day. The IDS version is 11.50 FC8 (this will be upgraded to 11.70 FC5 next week) OS is SunOS 5.10 Generic_147441-07 i86pc i386 i86pc (32 GB memory) Please suggest which one is a good option. regards, Nitin
Absolute best? Go for as many local SSD drives as you can get, RAID10 them together and carve out your devices for chunks from there. Reserve 2 (or more) drives as a RAID1 pair (or smaller RAID10 array) for logical and physical logs. Select SSD drives carefully, they are not all created equal! Art Art S.
