Re: Migration DB from 9.2 Unix to NT with Datablade inside
Posted in 2000
Here is the detail on what I tried this morning and yesterday after
Paul gave the idea to rename NT Directory :
FROM NT : IDS.2000 with ETX.1.30.TC3 + TXT.1.10.TC4
and I would like to migrate one Database
TO UNIX Box : IDS.2000 with ETX.1.30.UC2 + TXT.1.10.UC4
Steps followed :
1-Rename D:\\informix\\extent\\ETX.1.30.TC3
and D:\\informix\\extent\\TXT.1.10.TC4
on the NT
2-Create a NEWDB
3-Register Datablade in the NEWDB
4-DBEXPORT for NT
5-Transfer NEWDB.EXP to UNIX
6-Change SBSPACE Name inside the NEWDB.SQL
6-DBIMPORT NEWDB -l buffered.
Now it doesn't fail with the Error mentionned yesterday :
-12802________________Error in initializing an access_method routine
[My mistake was to replace ETX.1.30.TC3 to ETX.1.30.UC3 and this
directory
doesn't exist on my Unix but ETX.1.30.UC2 ]
BUT It always HANGS during the first statement CREATE INDEX ETX.
DBIMPORT hangs but ONSTAT -G SES shows the Build statement :
onstat -g ses 37
Informix Dynamic Server 2000 Version 9.20.UC2 -- On-Line -- Up
00:36:32 -- 64512 Kbytes
session #RSAM total used
id user tty pid hostname threads memory memory
37 informix 2 29889 loadtest 1 184320 176952
tid name rstcb flags curstk status
53 sqlexec b7d3718 --BP--- 12848 b7d3718 running
Memory pools count 1
name class addr totalsize freesize #allocfrag #freefrag
Changing data structure forced command termination.
Perhaps I miss something ( but I don't know what )
IT SHOULD BE THE DIFFERENCE OF VERSION of the ETX Blade NT <-> UNIX,
I m going to search if one of my UNIX Server owns an ETX.1.30.UC3.
I perhaps WILL LOG a Case to the Technical Support but like I work since
two years on the 9.1, I never heard about a INFORMIX Blade Migration
Tool.
