Steve, First off, error -25588 is "The appl process cannot connect to OnLine server server-name.", not that it couldn't open a file (unless the error you referenced refers to the ISAM error). This file is a standard message file that ships with OnLine, and should be in the $INFORMIXDIR/msg/en_us/0333 directory. Check the listing; it should be owner/group informix, with perms of 644. If missing, I could see why you could be getting the 25588 error.
