RE: Informix conference
Posted in 2006
Double E. I agree. I loved those electronic updates. In the past, the IIUG spent a lot of time creating and passing along electronic updates from various conferences. This year, I saw every single board member working the whole conference. Many of them did presentations, coordinated repeat sessions, attended b!tch sessions with IBM, attended product development sessions with IBM and spent some board face time with each other. The Conference Planning Committee was also buried with conference activities. Add to that, the registration booth made a handful of mistakes during attendee check-in time adding even more pressure for the board members and volunteers. Also, I know my days started at 7am and didn't end until almost 8 o'clock most nights. Go to Dinner at 8:30?!?!?! There just wasn't a lot of free time. Maybe next year, or better yet, long live "The Informix Forum"!! It is the best 2 day technical seminar/conference you can attend hosted by the Washington, D.C. user group. Plan on attending it this winter, December 8th and 9th. -----Original Message----- From: informix-list-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:informix-list-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Double Echo Sent: Tuesday, May 16, 2006 8:55 AM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Re: Informix conference Obnoxio The Clown wrote: > Double Echo said: >> IBM really needs to get outside the box and look at their market, and >> look at what kind of message they are _really saying_, not what they >> insist is the message. Even more curious, with the plethora of electronic tools and internet opportunities that basically could be had for the cost of the bandwidth, there have been no pictures, no video, no audio, no nothin, from either the illustrious IIUG or Informix-et-al or IBM. This is even more evidence that there is no intention of Informix being relevant in the future. What a waste of a marketing opportunity. Completely shit. _______________________________________________ Informix-list mailing list Informix-list@iiug.org http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list
