Hi,
there's really no need to run dbimport as user "informix".
Ensure that you have set all neccessary environment variables
like:
INFORMIXDIR=path_of_your_installation_directory
PATH=$PATH:$INFORMIXDIR/bin
INFORMIXSERVER=your_server_name
export INFORMIXDIR INFORMIXSERVER
If this attempt will fail, please be so kind and tell us your
error number or the resulting error message.
