db_locale mismatch
Posted in 2009
Hi, I'm reposting this under a different heading in case there's someone out there with some idea what's going on. I'm connecting to IDS 10 on hp-ux from a .NET app and getting the following error ERROR [HY000] [Informix .NET provider][Informix]Database locale information mismatch. Exception Target Site: .ctor The thing is that this happens on one W2003 machine with two different .NET apps. Both these apps work fine on another W2003 machine (and indeed on a Vista machine and an XP machine), the connection strings are identical across machines. So I tend to suspect it's the setup on the W2003 machine and not the .NET app. The db_locale on the hp-ux server is en_us.819, the db_locale on the windows box is en_us.819 (set through setnet, verified through regedit), so is the client_locale. I've tried CSDK 2.9 then CSDk 3.5, now have uninstalled 3.5. I've made sure the INFORMIXDIR in SETNET points to C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Informix\\\\Client-SDK (which is where 2.9 puts it's bin directory). I can connect with ilogin and ODBC connections work fine. If I add "db_locale=en_US.819" to the connection string I get a different error, "SQL_INFX_ATTR_LOCALIZE_DECIMALS - no error information available". Any clues as to where I could look for the problem greatly appreciated.
