Question: Logical log backups?
Posted in 1995
I have a quick question regarding backups of Logical logs to optical disk. We are running Informix-Online ver 5.x. I have set up a korn-shell script that performs a logical log backup, tbtape -a, to an optical disk drive. When I run the tbtape -a command online, everything is fine. When I run the script, it seems to backup the logs, but when I look at the output file, it's empty. Here's the command as it appears in the script.. tbtape -a < $input_file >> $status_file $input_file contains the results of echo "\\ny\\n". Basically a blank line, followed by a y, then a blank line. I thought I read somewhere that you could only run tbtape online. This seems kind of limiting. Has any one had any luck with sort of thing?
