Sorry for stearing you (and : anyone else) in the wrong direction. : Ron Delpiere-Smith : reds@informix.com Well this sounds like a change in direction! What is the Informix definition of a "User" now then? My License Agreement says that my Informix software is licensed " ... for use only by me and other users authorized in writing from Informix. ...". I also have a sticky label authorizing me in writing to run 20 Users. I have set my server config up to run more than 20 Userthreads so that my Users can run multiple threads if they wish to. If I configure 20 User processes in my TP Monitor setup then I am not in breach of anything the Informix license (or the TPM license) says. If I have 4000 PCs on my network communicating with my 20 Users on my database server, I am still not in breach of anything the license says. Let's assume that the licenses on the PCs are all tickety-boo. Are you saying Informix have a beef with this? If so, on what basis? -- graeme -- Disclaimer: The author's opinions are his own, and not necessarily those of Pyramid Technology Ltd. or Pyramid Technology Inc. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -m------- Graeme Sargent Voice: +44 (0)252 373035 ---mmm----- Senior Database Consultant Fax : +44 (0)252 373135 -----mmmmm--- Pyramid Technology Ltd.
