I guess they fixed that in the newer release by not including that section at all. There may well be a script already written that does what you're trying to do. I have one in the archives that will calculate extent sizes, it's called /pub/informix/pub/extentsize. I just bourne-shell coded the formulas in the tutorial from chapter 10.
