Hi,
From memory, I think that the ODBC drivers conform to various different
"Conformance Levels". So drivers at Level 0, typically do not support
"Complex" SQL queries, such as order by, while drivers at level 1 do. I think
that the best place to start is to ask the driver manufacturer which
Conformance Level their drivers conform to. Also I recommend that you get
hold of the following books :
"Database developer's Guide with Visual Basic 3"
by Roger Jennings, Sams Publishing ISBN : 0-672-30440-6
"Microsoft ODBC 2.0 Programmer's Reference and SDK Guide"
Microsoft Press ISBN 1 - 55615-658-8
There is also a Microsoft Paper available from their Net site which describes
the workings of ODBC and the Jet Engine.
