-1226 with indexed table
Fellow Informixers,
We recently noticed that OnLine 5.x returns
no error on the table below after the first select. However, after
creating an index on the table we get an error -1226 'Decimal or
money value exceeds maximum precision'. It seems to me that we
should be getting a consistant db error for both queries.
Has anybody got the chance to test the case
on other releases, is it a known bug ?, any views/information on
this phenomonym would be gratefully appreciated.
create table foo1
( fld1 decimal (4,0) ) ;
insert into foo1 values (100);
insert into foo1 values (999);
insert into foo1 values (9999); commit work ;
select * from foo1 where fld1 < 10000 ;
create index foo1_index on foo1 (fld1); commit work ;
select * from foo1 where fld1 < 10000 ;
