Does your Windows NT 4.0 SP3 workstation happen to running a 3COM driver diagnostic agent? We had severe performance problems last year with ODBC connections until we disabled it. Below is the procedures we followed to disable it: Disable a 3Com driver diagnostics feature * Locate the 3Com icon, which appears by the clock on the Taskbar. * Right click on the 3Com icon. * Select Disable Tray Icon Stop 3Com dRMON Start Agent PC Software agent. * Go to the Control Panel (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel) * Double click on Services * Highlight 3Com dRMON Start Agent PC Software. * Click on Startup * Select Manual * Click OK * Click Stop * Click Close -----Original Message----- From: Helmut Leininger [mailto:h.leininger@bull.at] Sent: Friday, August 20, 1999 01:43 To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Re: Poor performance w/Setne32 and NT 4.0 wrkstn Bruce McDougald wrote: > We are getting extremely poor performance (4 mins to connect w/ilogin) > from our install of I-Connect 7.2 client on a NT 4.0 SP3 workstation > with 64 MB RAM. Everything runs ok on a similar configuration (NT 4.0 SP4 as client, AIX / Informix IDS as server) in my office. My impression is that it should have something to do with the network (address resolution, physics, .....)
