Unix Port Standards

I am trying to establish a standard within our group and site and even company if it be for the /etc/services ports used on unix machines. It seems that there are a lot of biases for different port numbers for different reasons. Informix appears to suggest - at least on paper - that the port number be assigned 1525 and higher for continuing instances. This is also the portnumber that Oracle defaults to , so that suggests to me that maybe there is an underlying standard , ANSI ... or otherwise for some proprietary TCP/IP networking. Our corprate office starts at 1525 for Oracle networking and then starts at 8734 for Informix networking. Within our own group we have instances starting at 8910 to 8921. So the question is : " Is there actually an existing standard for TCP/IP portnumbers for informix networking(INET,ISTAR...).
