I have a client running IDS 7.30.UC2 on SCO svr 5. They are not under maintenance (I'm working on convincing them to get it, and to upgrade). Their database went down - I'm enclosing part of the log. Anybody have a suggestion as to what may have happened? 13:55:02 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 0 seconds. 13:55:05 Assert Failed: No Exception Handler 13:55:05 Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC2 13:55:05 Who: Session(0, @, 0, 0) Thread(0, noname, 0, 0) File: mtex.c Line: 314 13:55:05 Assert Failed: Memory free block header corruption detected in mt_shm_mallo c_segid 1 13:55:05 Results: Exception Caught. Hi,
We once had the same problem after upgrading an SCO instance (5.05) with
memory. (512 MB -> 1 GB)
I think we had a 7.31 or 7.30 release at that time.
The instance started again without any problems by invoking oninit.
The problem came frequently (some weeks in between). The effect did not
occur any more when we
exchanged memory in total (the chips did not "like" each other obviously).
Maybe this helps,
Marcus
