On Nettype Configuration

Hi forum, Looking for high level thought on these two configurations for Nettype. Using soctcp,,500,NET (without # of poll threads) for nettype value in onconfig. If left blank does it take a default value. vs. soctcp,4,500,NET (with # of poll threads) for nettype value in onconfig. Which configuration is the best if any. Thanks in advance for your expert advice! Josue'

The NET VPs are dynamic. The initial configuration simply specified an initial
size for the connection data structures but the server can expand the
structures
as needed. Only for shared memory connections is the NETTYPE connection count
a hard limit because the communications shared memory blocks are allocated at
startup (the type 'M' segments reported by onstat -g mem). So your one NET VP
is struggling to handle requests from 2000 connected users. Not good. I'd want
at least 4 maybe 6 NET VPs for that kind of loading.
