Hello, I am wondering if anyone is running Universe on Windows 2000 Server. If so, is it stable and what comments do you have with the results of the upgrade. I do not see any notes on the Informix web site regarding this. Thank you, Keith Caravelli

This group is not yet inhabited by users of the Ardent products such as Universe, Keith. There is a very active mailing list discussion group, however, which is sure to be able to assist you in this and other Ardent matters. Simply send an e-mail to informix-mv-subscribe@oliver.com to join up. Matti
Well, that's not exactly true. There are some of us U2 users lurking here. Mainly just to see what the legacy Informix folks are saying about our favorite DBMS. But Matti is correct about the mail list group. I haven't used UniVerse myself for several years now, I'm a UniData devotee now. I do know that UniData hasn't been certified for use on WIN2k yet so I'd be surprised if UniVerse is either. But go ask the UniVerse gurus on the mail list and you'll be sure to get some answers. I'm pleased to find another U2 lurker, Gordon -- the tip of a growing iceberg, no doubt. ;-) I think the use of the word "legacy" is somewhat provocative in the circumstances, though. Matti
My appologies if I offended anyone with that remark. What I meant was legacy to this newsgroup. It was not a crack on the original Informix DB. I will, however, point out that it's interesting that some of these traditional RDBMS companies now seem to be attempting to do things with nested tables that we in the MVDBMS sector have been doing for several decades.
