Informix-Connect and Client SDK

Informix claims that "Informix-Connect" consists of runtime versions of the client products and that "Informix Client SDK" consists of the development versions of the client products. From my experience, the claim on "Informix-Connect" does not appear to be true. I recently installed IDS 7.30.UC3-2 and IConnect 2.02 on a client machine. When I tried to run an esql/C program, compiled on a development machine (with IDS 7.30 UC3-2 and Client SDK 2.02), on the client machine, Informix came back with error "369" (Invalid Serial Number, etc.). After several tries (including reinstallation of Informix on the client), I gave it up and installed the full SDK on the client too. This of course solved the problem. But evidently, customer sites need not (should not) be asked to install development versions. I'd appreciate some feedback on this from users of Informix's connectivity products. Is there anything I can do to make IConnect work with programs compiled by SDK? Hardware/Software: IBM RS/6000 AIX 4.3.1 IDS 7.30 UC3-2 Client SDK 2.02 Alanoly J. Andrews
