It is an intriguing idea and I have wanted to analyze the communications going on in my internet dealings. However after installing the product I was unable to use any, not just one, but any of my browsers. NetMedic modified them all, Netscape and Explorer alike. Admittedly I was asked if I wanted that to happen and I agreed, but I rather expected this to work. The Net Medic people insist that you shut down your browser while installing the demo. I did. I received a message box which said NetScape was unable to initialize the network, check my Winsock when I tried to start it. "Winsock," thought I, "I don't use any Winsock. I don't any stinkin Winsock I got Reflections network software runnin". Sadder but wiser I asked a dude I know on our local net for a copy of NetScape 4.0 and I am back. Beware the ides of April and NetMedic too. --------------B3051E0075F4A42E11667BF7 Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline >From: Tim Schaefer <tschaefe@mindspring.com> >Reply-To: tschaefe@mindspring.com >Sender: informix-list-owner@rmy.emory.edu >To: informix-list@rmy.emory.edu >Received: from rmy.rmy.emory.edu ([170.140.97.4]) > by mtigwc01.worldnet.att.net (post.office MTA v2.0 0613 ) > with ESMTP id AAA3551; Wed, 16 Apr 1997 04:01:21 +0000 >Received: (from ilist@localhost) by rmy.rmy.emory.edu (8.7.1/8.7.1) id WAA09787 for informix-list-out; Tue, 15 Apr 1997 22:35:02 -0400 (EDT) >Message-ID: <33542A43.B268EB44@mindspring.com> >Subject: Now this is a cool tool! >Organization: ISTP >X-Informix-List-Id: <news.36621> >Date: Wed, 16 Apr 97 01:24:19 +0000 This has nothing to do with Informix, but the product is just so cool I had to share it with you. http://www.vitalsigns.com/ When Informix gets their interfaces to work like this they won't be reporting slumped sales again...Maybe they could get an interface like this for OnLine 7.x. Imagine being able to tune LRUS and BUFFERS <without> having to bounce the instance--what a concept. :-) -- Tim Schaefer \\\\|// tschaefe@mindspring.com (6 6) ------------------------oOOo---( )---o00o------------------- INFORMIX!!!
