Password problem on IDS 7.30

Hello, I encounter problem on connecting ODBC to IDS7.3 server (linux edition) The system complained : -952 User's password is not correct for the database server. I read the previous post: The shadowed passwords must be disabled. Is it true? How can I solve this problem?
