IDS 9.40 End of Support
Our Server is an HP runing HP-UX 11i and IDS 9.40. IDS 9.40 is not supported as of April 30, 2009. So now I have to consider upgrading or finding extend support. Do you have experience with IBM-Informix that even after EOS date, they still provide support? If upgrading, there are IDS 11.10 and 11.50 available. Which one is closer to IDS 9.40 so that the migration would be easier? Thanks, Chushia
Chushia, I really recommend you to upgrade to 11.50. I already did, and works well.... If you upgrade to 11.10, in a few months you will upgrade to 11.50 ...or higher....... All IDS versions are fully backward compatible. Nothing you have running on 9.40 will have trouble running on 11.50. I would suggest going to 11.50 xC3 or later. Obviously you will run thourough tests and recompile all of your apps with the latest CSDK and test those as well.
