I could find ALTER FRAGMENT on my on-line Informix manual but again dbaccess
and older manuals did not seem to have this SQL construct.
Q: Does IDS 7.2x support ALTER FRAGMENT??
Thanks in advance!

I have it in my SQL Quick Syntax Guide Version 7.1 so the answer is
yes 7.2x does indeed support ALTER FRAGMENT. Besides I run 7.21 and
7.24 in addition to 7.30 and 7.31 instances and this works in all of
these. ALTER FRAGMENT is not in the dbaccess menus you have to type it
into a script and run it at the dbaccess commandline mode or from the
QUERY menu. The command to append tables to another is:
ALTER TABLE ON TABLE <surviving table>
ATTACH <surviving table> AS <fragment expr>,
<consumed table> AS <fragment expr>, ....;
This is simplified and there are other options like attaching a table
as the remainder fragment forcing the new fragment to preceed or
succeed a particular other fragment in the tables fragment list, append
multiple tables in a single command, etc.
Check out the 7.3x manuals online if you cannot find it in your manuals,
the syntax and features of this command have not changed over time.
