Purify / file table problem while compiling on HP-UX - urgent - p

Hi, Has anyone encountered this problem or can suggest any solution ? It seems to indicate that the file table(s) are full. What is the meaning of the columns inod-sz and file-sz ? Thanks in advance. Then the objects and some libraries/archives are used during linking to genearte an exe named 'tmsvr'. When trying to do the link, the process stops. The following error message is given and exe is not created. Purify engine: While processing file /usr/lib/libdld.1: Error: Could not open file /usr/lib/libdld.1 for reading. System error code: Too many open files *** Error exit code 1 Stop. That time we rebooted the machine and the fill factor for the inod-sz and file-size reduced - the compilation went thru' - but within an hour or so the tables were full again. We can't reboot the machine everytime this happens as there are a lot of developers using it and their work would get held up. (It takes a long time to reboot as we have to shutdown Informix, MQ Series, apps using them, etc.) Thanks for any help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -
