I don't know whether it works with 95 or not, or indeed how good it is. 2)Microsoft are now offering NT services for Unix, which includes the ability to propagate password changes. I don't know whether this fully available yet, or indeed whether it supports NIS (it ought to, as it'd be somewhat pointless otherwise). 3)Write a non-interactive Unix yppassword change program (i.e. chpasswd username oldpassword newpassword) that can be invoked via rsh then just knock-up a front-end and get your users to run it when they change their NT passwords. Low-cost, clunky solution... 4)Make your clients trusted-hosts and forget about Unix passwords ..... I wouldn't recommend this one. Ultimately, a common api for authentication services (based on Open Standards) across platforms would be nice (something like XBSA) - it probably already exists but I don't know about it. -- # Matt Pierce -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
